2011 Ducati Testasretta 1198 SP

2011 Ducati Testasretta 1198 SP

Ducati's last belt drive, trellis frame superbike. Last of the Australian delivered Testastrettas, manufactured May 2011.  Australian delivered and only a small number of these were imported in Sport Production. The 1198 incorporated many aspects of the 1098 R racing homologation.

The fourth generation of Ducati’s ‘L’ twin cylinder bikes.

The Testastretta (narrow head) belt driven overhead camshafts significantly increased both power and torque within the evolutionary fuel-injected twin cylinder engine. Electronic rider systems were also introduced.

The fourth gen Desmos raced in the ‘World Superbike’ series 2001 to 2012 winning six rider and six constructor world titles, including three by Australian Troy Bayliss (original signature on tailpiece). This was a display bike in Ducati Launceston and was not first registered until August 2012.

The 1198 featured acceleration (0 to 100 in 2.5 secs) and torque (134 NM).
